MIDTOWN — The Big Apple debut of the iPhone 4G on Thursday drew technology fans from all over the East Coast to Apple's Midtown store early in the week.

Taylor Robinette, Luke Wilmer and Kim Nichols got on the Megabus from Baltimore to New York City and did what true Apple enthusiasts do: set up chairs outside of the store in the wee hours of Wednesday — more than 24 hours ahead of the gadget's arrival.

“Apple’s always ahead of the time,” Robinette, 16, explained. “It will be worth it.”

But Robinette and his crew weren't the first person in line outside of the Fifth Avenue store.

Eighteen-year-olds Evan Wiendczak, Will Parcellini and Joey Mallon came in from Boston to snag a copy of the phone — and sell two of their spots to the highest bidders. Asking price? $500 and rising.

“We’ve just been eating and drinking a lot of Monster [energy drink],” Parcellini said.

Next to them, Jonathan Ouchiano, a 21-year-old from Manhattan, and his friends were auctioning their seats off for $600 — and said they had had some success.

Despite the high sticker prices, Ouchiano said he was convinced his spots would sell, comparing the phones to Air Jordans, the popular sneakers that people wait on line for for days.

“Everybody got one,” he said.

Meanwhile, Apple has reported some production snags.

Sales of the white version of the iPhone have been delayed until late July, Apple said in a statement.
