INWOOD—The hill in Isham Park was alive with music as SymphoNYChorus, a choir and orchestra choral group, celebrated the first day of summer with a performance that was part of the citywide annual Make Music New York music festival.

Henric Ideström, founder and artistic director of SymphoNYChorus, led the group, which featured approximately 20 vocalists and musicians, as they presented a suite of Broadway standards while children played and families ate picnic dinners.

The performance was one of hundreds throughout New York City and Inwood. Inwood played host to three other performances held earlier in the day with hip hop and rock music performances at the RING garden at the intersection of Broadway, Seaman Avenue and Riverside Drive and a jazz concert at the Anne Loftus Playground on Broadway and Dyckman Street.
