MANHATTAN — Mayor Michael Bloomberg pulled down more money from his investments in 2009 than the year before, according to heavily redacted tax forms released Friday, the Daily News reported.

The forms showed that Mayor Bloomberg paid out more than $500,000 in personal income taxes last year, revealing that he did well in 2009, but not quite well enough to make up for the millions in losses he sustained in 2008.

Bloomberg paid more tax on his household staff last year and earned money leasing out a horse and stable. He was also paid for his appearances on "Law & Order" and the Christmas Muppets special, according to reports.

Among those that benefitted from the Mayor's largesse in 2009 were his ex-wife Susan Bloomberg, whose trust fund received more than $500,000  and — in typically secretive Bloomberg fashion — an unnamed family member who was given an unspecified sum, the News reported.

The Mayor has made his personal tax filings "public" since 2001. But in place of actual numbers, his accountants put letters representing a range of dollar amounts. For example "G," the highest category, represents sums in excess of $500,000.
