LOWER MANHATTAN — Prince Harry of Wales will return to Governors Island to play polo for charity this summer.
Harry, 25, will ride in the third annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on June 27, the Associated Press reported Wednesday morning.
Like last year, the event will raise money for American Friends of Sentebale, an arm of the global charity Prince Harry co-founded to help children in Lesotho, South Africa.
VIP tickets cost $250, but the event will include an area that is free and open to the public. Last year’s match attracted several stars including Madonna, Kate Hudson and LL Cool J.
Argentine polo player and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras will also return. At last year’s polo classic, Prince Harry’s team beat Figueras’ team 6-5, with Harry assisting in the winning goal during the last seconds of the game.
This year's match will take place at noon on Sun., June 27. The organizers request that attendees dress in traditional polo style, which means hats for women and summer suits for men.
