MANHATTAN — For once, sitting up high in the nosebleed seats might be a luxury.

Madison Square Garden is planning to build two sky bridges above the playing area as part of their $850 million reconstruction of the "World's Greatest Arena," the New York Post reported.

"This is our signature element. It will be a unique experience in sports and entertainment," Hank Ratner, CEO of Madison Square Garden, told The Post.

The skybridges will be built five stories above the floor and will hold about a 1,000 fans, the paper reported.

The Garden's renovation plan calls for a complete rebuilding of the arena on the inside and outside using the existing shell that was built in 1968, the Post reported.

The reconstruction begins in June 14 and is expected to take four years to complete.

The sky bridges and new lobby are set to be completed for the 2013-14 season. Pricing has not been set for the sky bridges.
