SEAPORT DISTRICT— Members of the NYPD Harbor Unit and US Coast Guard inspected the gang way leading to the Peking, docked at the South Street Seaport Museum, on Monday after a child was heroically rescued by her dad after she fell off the ship Saturday.

Two-year-old Bridget Sheriden was rescued by her dad, David Anderson, after she fell 20 feet into the murky water, according to published reports.

"She was looking at me. I saw her," Anderson told the Daily News. "Her face was an inch or two under water."

"I just got in. I know I had to get down there," he added.

The tourist attraction, which is closed Mondays, was inspected during the day by the NYPD Harbor Police and United States Coast Guard. The officials took pictures of the loading ramp and spoke with museum staff.

"We are typically closed on Monday, but as far as I know we will be open as usual tomorrow," said Adam Pockriss, a spokesman for the Seaport museum.

He declined to comment on whether new safety measures would be introduced.
