MANHATTAN — A gas main replacement project at E. 75th Street that's been delayed several weeks due to snowstorms is back on.

Con Edison began work to replace an old gas main at E. 75th Street between York Avenue and the FDR Drive on Thursday. The repairs are expected to last until March 4.

Work on the gas main is scheduled Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The street was not expected to be closed.

Although cuts to service in the neighborhood were not expected as a result of the project, there may be interruptions at specific times, said Stephanie Kinlock, a spokesperson with the department.

Residents and businesses affected by the interruptions will be notified ahead of time, she said.
