MIDTOWN — For the third year in a row, Upper West Side foodies are gearing up for the neighborhood's own restaurant week.

Organizers of the New Taste of the Upper West Side released its program last week, and if previous years are any yardstick, re  just sell out — fast.

"These are the best restaurateurs on the Upper West Side," said Barbara Adler, executive director of the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District, who puts the event on.

The two-day event, from May 21st to 22nd, will unite Upper West Side talent such as Kevin Garcia from Cesca on West 75th Street and Amsterdam Avenue with chefs from around the city such as SHO Shaun Hergatt from the financial district.

Magnolia Bakery will be participating in the New Taste of the Upper West Side.

"Everybody is coming back plus others that were invited to join," said Adler.

Upper West Siders can expect some great food at events as well as some great conversations.

Friday morning Elizabeth Kaledin from New York One will host an all-star panel with Ellie Kriger from the Food Network, chef John Fraser from Dovetail plus others with topics from healthy school lunches to buying locally.

For those with a sweet tooth, Divine Desserts on the Friday night will show case pastry chefs from Dovetail, Magnolia Bakery, and Alice's Teacup.

Saturday night finale will be a knockout for taste buds with the the Best of the West. Over 40 of the Upper West Side's celebrated chef with a few special guests will showcase their signature dishes and don't forget wine, cocktails and a 17-piece orchestra.

With the program released last week, the Columbus Avenue BID has already tweeted that ticket sales over the weekend were "amazing."

Tickets start at $35 for the panel discussion and hit $200 for the Best of the West Event. They can be purchased on the web from at www.newtasteuws.com.
