Beautifying the Upper West Side, Sephora Moves In

UPPER WEST SIDE — The neighborhood is continuing draw big-box stores with makeup giant Sephora the next big chain due to move in.

Sephora is scheduled to open in April at 808 Columbus Avenue, between W. 97th and W. 100th Street, an area that has seen an influx of chain stores with Whole Foods, TJ Maxx and Michaels all setting up shop in the last year.

Philadelphia import Rita's also just opened on the Upper West Side. 

More are still to come.

The mall-like atmosphere will continue with Borders, Modell's Sporting Goods and Crumbs Bake Shop, which are set to open as part of a $500 million Columbus Square development.

There is also space for banks, drug stores and community groups including the Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan, the Mandell School and the William F. Ryan Community Health Center.
