MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a man they say dressed as a deliveryman to fake his way into a Harlem woman's apartment where he shot and robbed her.

The suspect, dressed in an UPS uniform, told the victim he had a package for her at about 12:40 in the afternoon on Jan. 23, police said.

Once inside her W. 111th Street apartment, he shot the 58-year-old woman in the thigh and stole her jewelry, according to police.

Police described the man as black, 28 to 35-years-old and 5 feet 10 or 11 inches tall with a stocky build.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
