CHINATOWN — Police raided a strip of stalls on Canal Street Tuesday, seizing knock off handbags, watches and wallets as a part of crackdown on counterfeit sellers in the area.

Ten buildings, housing 31 stalls, were shuttered between Broadway and West Broadway, as officers seized goods branded with high-end labels like Chanel, Gucci, Juicy Couture, Tiffany, Coach and Cartier.

No arrests were made.

Before the raids, investigators made undercover purchases of counterfeit goods, including handbags, perfume, clothing and jewelry.

They obtained a court order based on these purchases and warrants were executed by the mayor's office of special enforcement, created in 2006 to crack down on counterfeit sales.
