Police are searching for a petite woman, wearing a distinctive Celtic cross baseball cap, who they say robbed a Hamilton Heights bank.

The woman, whom police described as white, 40-years-old and 5 feet 2 inches tall, slipped a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money from a teller at the Banco Popular at 3540 Broadway shortly after 9 a.m. on Nov. 4.

After the teller handed over cash, the woman fled north on foot on Broadway, police said.

She was wearing a black, three-quarter length winter jacket with blue jeans at the time, according to the NYPD.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
