Logan Square Wins Big: Mi Tocaya, Quiote, Giant All Bib Gourmand Newcomers

LOGAN SQUARE — Logan Square restaurants Mi Tocaya, Quiote, Giant and Longman & Eagle were among 54 restaurants named in Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for 2018.

The Bib Gourmand list, released Friday, honors affordable spots tailored to locals. To qualify, each restaurant has to offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less, excluding tax and tip.

Logan Square, which has become of the city's premier dining hotspots, is home to half of this year's newcomers. The other four newcomers include HaiSous, Mango Pickle, Pleasant House Pub and True Food Kitchen.

As the Tribune first pointed out, the award may not be welcome news for the folks who run Longman & Eagle, which has won a Michelin star the past seven years. By winning the less prestigious Bib Gourmand designation, Longman is out of the running for a star in 2018.
