EDGEWATER — Despite sharing the night with Chicago's first snowstorm of the year, community members turned out to Senn High School's annual pasta dinner fundraiser Friday evening, which goes toward a college scholarship fund for undocumented students

The event raised $1,500 with additional donations still coming in, said Alexander Roi, a counselor at the school. Over the last few years, Senn's Student Council has raised nearly $10,000 to help their fellow classmates who are undocumented immigrants be able to afford college.

"The dinner went very well despite the weather," Roi said. "I've been contacted by a number of people who are so proud of what we are doing that they want to contribute as well."

Donations can still be made through the school's main office.
