CHICAGO — This month marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of Twitter, which was supposed to be a podcasting platform called Odeo but turned into a multi-billion-dollar entity with a little blue Tweety bird.
Some have mastered Twitter with creative Tweets and quality uses of emojis. Others, not so much.
To honor the 10 years of Twitter, which was created in March 2006 and officially launched July 15, 2006, DNAinfo took a look back at some of Chicago's most well-known Tweeters at their first Tweets. This site allows you to look at your very first Tweet as well.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression

This is how a lot of us felt in 2011
Everybody gets one mulligan
Twitter handles get hungry, too
Doesn't get much better than this
Riveting update
Shameless self promotion
Did anyone actually faint?
Rest in peace, Mr. Ebert
