CHICAGO — Citywide shootings left a man dead and five others hurt between Friday morning and Saturday morning, police said.

The man, 44, was shot and killed during an argument in Washington Park Friday night, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Earlier, Estrada said, a 14-year-old boy was hurt in a drive-by shooting in Little Village.

Another man, 34, was shot in his leg while standing on a Humboldt Park street corner, Estrada said.

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, around 8:50 p.m. Friday, a 29-year-old man driving a car was stopped at a red light in the 8300 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue in Chatham when a man walked up to him, pointed a gun and demanded money, Estrada said.

The man drove off, and the would-be robber fired shots, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition "stabilized" after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his right leg, Estrada said.

• About 15 minutes earlier, a 40-year-old man was standing near his car in the 5900 block of South Bishop Street in Englewood when someone shot him from the back of a passing light-colored car, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition "stabilized" after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his right leg and hand, Estrada said.

• Just after 4 p.m. Friday, a 20-year-old man was standing in the 800 block of 91st Street in Burnside when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his arm, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting was gang-related.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
