PORTAGE PARK — Bike 45 will celebrate the re-election of Ald. John Arena (45th) with a bicycle tour of Far Northwest Side bakeries.

The 10-mile ride will leave at 9:30 a.m. Sunday from Mia's Gelato, 4200 N. Central Ave., before stopping at Delightful Pastries, 5927 N. Lawrence Ave.; Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery, 5569 N. Northwest Highway; and Ideal Bakery, 4765 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Arena, who founded the organization to promote biking and bike safety in Jefferson Park and parts of Portage Park, Gladstone Park, Old Irving Park and Forest Glen, won a second term on the Chicago City Council by defeating Chicago Police Lt. John Garrido with 53.78 percent of the vote, according to unofficial returns.

Riders should wear helmets and bring bags to haul home their treats, organizers said.
