ROGERS PARK — The former Dominick's grocery store will reopen as Jewel-Osco next week, officials said.

The grocery chain, which bought the store in March, confirmed it would open its doors June 24, said Allison Sperling, a company spokeswoman.

Evanston Ald. Ann Rainey leaked the information to her constituents on Sunday via an electronic message board.

After Dominick's parent company Safeway Inc. closed all Dominick's stores last year, Jewel bought two stores in Chicago, including the Howard Street location and at 424 W. Division St.

Jewel also acquired three suburban locations.
