NORTH CENTER — From the people who brought you Bricks Pizza in Lincoln Park comes Big Bricks, a North Center pizza and barbecue joint with a smoker so big, they needed a crane to install it.

Big Bricks is the latest stop for Ted Brunson, who is sampling great neighborhood haunts for DNAinfo.com Chicago.

Big Bricks features an Oyler Barbecue Pit in the restaurant's basement that's large enough to handle 40 briskets. It slow cooks the restaurant's pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs and more.

The smoked meats are available in platters, on sandwiches and atop the pizzas that made Bricks beloved.
