QUEENS — A dozen people were hurt when a school bus carrying special-needs students crashed in Maspeth Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The wreck occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. on a service road of the Long Island Expressway near 68th Street, injuring 12 people, the FDNY said.
The 10 students on the bus were taken to Elmhurst Hospital for observation and their parents were notified, a Department of Education spokeswoman said.
The bus was turning right when a minivan cut in front of the vehicle, hitting the bus, the spokeswoman added.
All the injuries appeared to be minor, the FDNY said.
