INWOOD — Police are offering a $2,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest and indictment of a man suspected of sexually assaulting and robbing a woman Friday night.

The suspect is wanted for allegedly attacking a woman as she was walking on the southern end of Inwood Hill Park at Dyckman Street on Friday at 8:30 p.m.

She told police she was approached by a man in his 30s who struck up a conversation and then forced her into a secluded area of the park where he sexually assaulted her before fleeing on a red mountain bike. .

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who stands 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, and weighs around 180 pounds. He is thought to be between 30-35 and was wearing no shirt with something blue around his neck and was wearing khaki shorts.

The attack is one of three sexual assaults that took place within hours of each other from Friday night to early Saturday morning that has led local officials to call for more law enforcement in the area.

Police are also offering a $2,000 reward for tips related to the sexual assault of a woman in her apartment building in the viciinty of Broadway, between 192nd and 193rd streets.
