DOWNTOWN — The man found dead in the East River Tuesday has been identified as Lower East Side resident Kong Huang, 79, police said.

Huang's body was reportedly spotted in the water near the Wall Street Heliport a little after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Police removed his body onto the North Cove Marina in Battery Park City about 15 minutes later.

Huang was reported missing Sunday by the Office of Emergency Management. They said he suffered from Alzheimers and Hypertension.

The medical examiner is still determining the cause of death.
