Firefighter Caught Driving Drunk in Lower Manhattan, Police Say

LOWER MANHATTAN — An off-duty firefighter was caught driving drunk early this morning in lower Manhattan, police said.

William Dawkins, 34, was arrested about 5:35 a.m. Tuesday within the 1st Precinct and was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Dawkins could not immediately be reached for comment.
