MANHATTAN — A man with a gray goatee robbed a Greenwich Village bank and attempted to rob another two weeks later, police said.

The thief struck first at the Capitol One Bank at 21 University Place on 8th Street shortly after 11 a.m. on Oct. 5, according to the NYPD. The suspect was wearing a Yankees cap when he demanded money from a teller and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Police said.

Two weeks later, he was spotted wearing a tan cap when he entered another Capitol One Bank at 576 Hudson Street and 11th Street, police said. The suspect slid a black bag under the teller window and instructed a bank employee to fill the bag with cash. However, he fled the scene before getting any money, the NYPD said.

The suspect attempted to rob a second bank, this time in Greenwich Village, but left without the cash, police said.
