EAST VILLAGE — The folks behind popular West Side restaurant 5 Napkin Burger are eyeing a space on East 14th Street for their next venture.

Representatives from the restaurant got the thumbs-up from Community Board 3 Wednesday for their plan to open in a space at the corner of Third Avenue, most recently home to a deli/grocery store.

While the representatives did not confirm that the now-vacant space would eventually be an outpost of the popular Hell's Kitchen/Upper West Side chain, they did submit 5 Napkin Burger's menu at the Oct. 18 meeting, according to liquor license committee chairwoman Alexandra Militano.

However, they remained mum on whether the restaurant would actually be another 5 Napkin Burger restaurant, Militano added.

The representatives for the company — which also owns French Roast in the West Village and on the Upper West Side, Nizza in Hell's Kitchen, and Café D'Alsace on the Upper East Side — described the concept as a French-themed restaurant that will serve burgers and steaks, said Militano.

Both a representative for the restaurant, who was reached at 5 Napkin Burger's Hell's Kitchen location, and a spokesperson for the company declined to elaborate on plans for the location.
