MIDTOWN — An ex-con out on parole was arrested for slashing a train passenger’s face on the platform of the 34th Street-Penn Station subway station, police said.

Albert Vega, 29, of Brooklyn, was with a woman and a 35-year-old man on the northbound platform of the A/C/E tracks around 3:17 a.m. Wednesday when the trio got into an argument, the NYPD said.

At some point during the dispute, Vega slashed the left side of the man’s face with a knife before fleeing the station with the woman, police and a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney's office said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Vega was arrested and charged with one count of assault in the second degree, one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, the DA's office said.

He's currently being held at the Manhattan Detention Complex on $150,000 bail, city Department of Correction records show.

At the time of the incident, Vega had been out on parole after previously being convicted of first-degree robbery, according to state DOC records.

Vega's attorney didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.

Police are still searching for the woman, who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and a gray T-shirt and carrying a black book bag.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
