See The Colorful Blooms Already Opening in Central Park

February 27, 2017 2:22pm | Updated February 27, 2017 2:46pm

Visitors lured into the park by the recent warm weather are capturing some of the early signs of spring — including colorful flowers that have already started to open up throughout Central Park.

As the weather warmed to spring-like balmy temperatures this month, early blooms like white snowdrops, yellow winter aconite — which typically arrive before spring begins in March — and other buds like daffodils are starting to pop up.

Temperatures hovered in the 60s last week, and the high on Wednesday this week is expected to reach up to 72 degrees, which would fall just one degree shy of the March 1 record set in 1973.

The warmer weather is drawing visitors out to the park and inspiring some colorful photographs on Instagram and Twitter.
