RED HOOK — A Red Hook man was arrested for a July shooting that left one man dead in front of his own apartment building, police said Friday.
Jahiem Smallwood, 23, was shot and killed in front of the Red Hook West Houses about 8:15 p.m. July 19, according to police.
He was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and rushed to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
Police on Friday arrested John Lawton, 24, who lives in the same New York Housing Authority complex just three blocks from the shooting.
Lawton was charged with murder and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.
