New York City knows how to do Halloween decorations.

Some blocks in Brooklyn get into the spirit of the holiday, while the Upper East Side and Upper West Side have a friendly rivalry about who's got the most elaborate displays.

In the end, we all win when New Yorkers snap photos of the best Halloween houses and share them on Twitter and Instagram:

Despite the NYPD telling us "don't be afraid" of those creepy clowns, those chilling reports of a clown chasing a teen off the 6 train and another popping up in one kid's window seem to be fueling the trend. One house in Brooklyn got creative, adding a Donald Trump spin to the creepy clown trend just in time for the election.
