QUEENS — Van Morrison will join a caravan of musicians performing at the Forest Hills Stadium this season, venue organizers announced on Thursday.
The Irish singer-songwriter and his daughter Shana Morrison are scheduled to take the stage at the stadium on Oct. 9, according to organizers.
Morrison joins a lineup of modern and classic music legends set to perform in Queens this summer that includes Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Mumford & Sons.
The historic venue first opened in 1923 and has hosted performances by Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra and Bob Dylan, to name a few.
It underwent a massive, multi-million dollar renovation in 2013 that included a new stage, handrails and benches, as well a number of noise-suppression measures.
The venue also announced that Glee star Matthew Morrison will perform with 78-piece orchestra The New York Pops on July 7, and Australian producer and electronic artist Flume will perform on Aug. 27.
Tickets for Van Morrison's Oct. 9 concert will go on sale May 13 at 10 a.m.
