The First Family may have its roots in the second city, but Malia Obama could be Big Apple-bound for college.
Obama, 17, has formed a list of schools she’ll apply to for next fall — with Barnard College and NYU leading the pack, according to NBC.
First Lady Michelle Obama has said that Malia wants to be a filmmaker, which bodes well for NYU and its esteemed Tisch School of the Arts, and she spent last summer in the city interning on the set of HBO’s “Girls."
She wouldn’t be the first in her family to attend school in New York, though. President Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983.
Yale, Wesleyan, Tufts, Brown, the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford and Cal-Berkeley round out her list.
