Saturday, July 4
► La Marina's Uptown Beach
Where: La Marina, 348 Dyckman St.
When: Noon to 3:30 p.m.
The beach at La Marina, a nightclub on the shore of the Hudson River, will be open to the public on Saturday afternoon. No outside food or drink is allowed, but the venue’s beach bar will be open. Entry is free.
► Hermione-Lafayette Parade of Ships
Where: The Battery
When: 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Watch a parade of historic boats, and local ships sail the New York Harbor, sail up the Hudson River to the Intrepid Museum. Viewing points are all along The Battery and Hudson River Park. Parade route begins south of the Verrazano Bridge, heads north Statue of Liberty, up to the Intrepid Museum and back down again. The Hermione is joined by local ships and boats.
► Macy's Fireworks Display
Where: Various Locations along the East River
When: Around 9:20 p.m.

Sunday, July 5
► Vanderbilt YMCA Lexington Avenue Festival
Where: Lexington Avenue between 42nd and 53rd streets
When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Vanderbilt YMCA is holding a street festival with food and other vendors.
► Global Family Day at Summer Stage
Where: Summer Stage, Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, Fifth Avenue and 69th Street, Upper East Side
When: 2 to 6 p.m.
Shine and the Moonbeams with special guest The Noel Pointer Youth Orchestra, The Red Trouser Show, Batoto Yetu, Ziporah Roney and Collaborative Artists will perform.
Where: Fort Tryon Park
When: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Take a guided tour of the park’s Heather and Alpine Gardens. The park was designed by the sons of Frederick Law Olmsted, the man behind Central Park. Members of Fort Tryon’s horticultural staff will discuss the gardens’ histories and reveal some of their secrets.
