Toast meets the NYPD.

A King Charles spaniel named Toast — who goes by the Instagram handle @toastmeetsworld and has over 200,000 followers — had a little cuddle sesh with an NYPD officer, captured in a photo posted on Tuesday.

In the photo, Toast is cradled in the arms of an officer from the 13th Precinct (identified by his lapel pins), which covers Peter Cooper, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy. An accompanying caption declares Toast's love for men in uniform.

Toast was rescued from a so-called "puppy mill," according to her Instagram profile. Dogs in puppy mills are packed into tiny cages and forced to have babies with little to no recovery time between litters, according to the ASPCA.

Toast's owner uses the lovable pup's Instagram fame to encourage people to "adopt, don't shop" in the hopes of putting puppy mills out of business. He also encourages the adoption of older dogs, like Toast and other former puppy mill moms like her.

Just for kicks, here's a little video of Toast "swalking" — a term her owner coined for when she paddles her little paws while he walks with her under his arm — with a Taylor Swift soundtrack.
