RED HOOK — Banksy’s heart-shaped balloon was covered with a plexiglass sheet after another street artist tagged his Red Hook work.

The famous British street artist’s stencil — featuring a heart-shaped red balloon covered in bandages — was spotted on King Street near Van Brunt Street Monday.

But Banksy’s piece was quickly tagged over by graffiti artist OMAR NYC just hours after being located.

The rival artist has a history of defacing Banksy’s work, according to reports

The building’s owner Vassilio Georgiadis, who installed the plexiglass, also plans to add lights and completely seal the work, according to Hyperallergic.

Banksy, whose satirical street art has drawn international attention, is bringing his works to the city this month with a series of projects titled “Better Out Than In.”

Most recently, his work can be found in East New York and on the Lower East Side, according to the artist’s website.
