BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Police are looking for a suspect in the Monday shooting of a 24-year-old father inside the Bedford-Stuyvesant supermarket he managed.

The suspect allegedly pulled a gun on a cashier inside the Fine Fare Supermarket at 33 Truxton St. about 3:44 p.m. The manager then tried to intervene, but the robber shot him once in the shoulder before fleeing with the register's money holder, police said.

The manager was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition.

"I heard a shot, and I saw him go down on floor," said a worker at the store, who added that he did not see the shooter.

Police released surveillance video Tuesday showing the suspect brandishing a black gun and grabbing the register's tray of cash.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 40s, 5-foot-10, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a Kansas City baseball cap, blue jeans and a black jacket.
