Police Searching for Man Suspected in East Village Stabbing

EAST VILLAGE — Police released a photo of a man they believe is behind the stabbing of a 31-year-old man in Manhattan early Saturday.

Police believe that Carl Knox, who has also gone by the name Abdul Hakim, 47, was behind the 3 a.m. attack on June 9.

The stabbing which occurred in front of 737 East 5th St. left the victim, Corey Capers, 31, of Manhattan, dead on arrival at Beth Israel Hospital.

Police now say Knox's address appears to be at the very same building where Capers was found.

Police said an investigation is ongoing, but are asking for the public's help.
