LOWER EAST SIDE - A Brooklyn man was nabbed for the murder of an acquaintance at a Lower East Side halfway house, police said.

Charles Meredith, 46, of Brownsville, allegedly stabbed Stewart Rhodes, 50, multiple times at the Stanton House, at 190 Stanton St. on May 5.

Officials said the men were fighting before the bloodshed, but it's not clear what the beef was over.

Meredith has seven prior arrests, police said.  In addition to the murder, he faces a weapons possession charge in this case.
