ALBANY PARK — Free information sessions have been scheduled to help those unsure of what President Donald Trump's move to end DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, means for them.
DACA had created a means by which undocumented immigrants — specifically those who came to the United States as children — could remain in the country. Those most affected by Trump's decision are individuals whose DACA benefits expire by March 5.
"Know Your Rights" workshops are being held in Lincoln Square and Albany Park to help people understand how to renew their DACA benefits — a process that must be completed by Oct. 5.
Workshops are scheduled for:
• 4-5 p.m. Wednesday at Amundsen High School, 5110 N. Damen Ave.
• 4-6 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Albany Park Library, 3401 W. Foster Ave.
• 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Albany Park Library
