LITTLE ITALY — The plan to move the Roosevelt Library to a new CHA building on Taylor Street is the topic of a community meeting Thursday.
The meeting is from 6:30-8 p.m. at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, 733 S. Ashland Ave., according to a letter sent from Ald. Jason Ervin to neighbors last week.
The meeting will be the second community meeting on the project, which is slated to be built at 1350 W. Taylor Street.
Ervin said at the first meeting June 29, residents raised concerns over the height of the building, the number of units in the building and the number or parking spaces.
The library is currently at 1101 W. Taylor St.
The new Roosevelt branch is part of the CHA's ongoing redevelopment of Roosevelt.
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has been tapped to design the Roosevelt branch near Taylor and Ada streets. The firm previously designed the award-winning Chinatown Branch Library, The Richard J. Daley Center and the John Hancock Center.
