Nando's To Open Next To Nutella Cafe On Michigan Avenue

DOWNTOWN — Nando's Peri-Peri is opening another restaurant Downtown, this one next to the Nutella Café on Michigan Avenue.

The South African/Portugese chicken chain will open the new restaurant at 155 N. Michigan Ave. on Labor Day, according to a press release. The new Nando's will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily after its debut Sept. 4. 

The new restaurant will be the 12th restaurant Nando's has opened in the Chicago area since debuting in the West Loop two years ago. The Johannesburg chain with more than 1,200 locations worldwide specializes in flame-grilled chicken and cheeky sides such as mashed peas.

The new Nando's on Michigan Avenue will feature a 21-foot-tall art piece made from 6,800 repurposed cans from Warrenville-based brewery Two Brothers, the company said. The restaurant opening next to the Nutella Café will be the chain's closest to Millennium Park. 

The Michigan Avenue restaurant will follow openings in the West Loop, South Loop, Jewelers Row and Streeterville. The chain also has restaurants in Lakeview and Lincoln Park.
