BEVERLY — The Chicago Public Library's Beverly branch will host a program called "The Science of Superheroes!" from 2:30-3:30 p.m. July 11.
A group called The Science Alliance will visit the library at 1962 W. 95th St. with the mission of uncovering the science behind superheroes. The program is aimed at children between ages 6-11.
Participants will explore which superpowers are "nothing more than a tall tale and which superpowers are based in science being used today." Volunteers will make "super" balls and witness mini lightning bolts spark from a Van de Graaf generator, according to an online description of the program.
