MORGAN PARK — Kennedy Park's pool will open Friday to the public.

The pool is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekends. The pool at 11320 S. Western Ave. has a schedule designed to accommodate various groups as well as its summer youth camps.

All swimmers must have a pool pass, which are free for Chicago residents with proof of residency. Non-residents can buy a pass for $30 per month or $50 for the summer. A separate pass is required for lap swimmers that costs $25 per month or $40 for three months.

Park personnel will issue pool passes at the field house from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7-10 a.m. Fridays.

Showers are required before entering the pool area, and floatation devices are not allowed. Clean swimsuits are also required, and street clothes, including gym shorts and cutoffs, are prohibited on the pool deck.

Food, candy and glass containers are also banned from the pool deck.

Kennedy Park will also participate in the Chicago Park District's World's Largest Swim Lesson at 6 p.m. June 22.
