DEPAUL — City stickers come to the 43rd Ward with a sale held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the DePaul University Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave.

The city went to a year-round system for car and truck stickers years ago, but the approaching end of June still rings a bell for many Chicago drivers, who used to have to queue up en masse at City Hall, and City Clerk Anna Valencia steps up her schedule of ward sales.

Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) plays host to Friday's sticker sale at DePaul, in Room 324 of the Student Center. She reminds constituents in her newsletter that they can "purchase vehicle stickers, senior stickers, residential zone stickers, transfers, residential daily permits and motorcycle and antique vehicle tags" at the event. New residents, however, will need proof of residency (such as a lease, mortgage statement or utility bill) and their vehicle registration.

Smith also cautions that cash is not accepted at the clerk's event. Payments must be made with a debit or credit card, or personal check.
