LINCOLN SQUARE — Get the lederhosen and dirndls out of storage, Lincoln Square — it's Maifest.

The festival, a traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring, runs Thursday through Sunday at Lincoln and Leland avenues. Enjoy food, beer, live music and plenty of what Germans call Gemütlichkeit, which loosely translates as friendliness and good cheer.

Highlights include Friday's official opening ceremony featuring a keg tapping and May queen crowning. Phenix and the Polkaholics are among the crowd-pleasing bands set to take the stage. The event's complete entertainment lineup is available online.

Maifest's hours are:

• 5-9:30 p.m. Thursday

• 5-11 p.m. Friday, with an opening ceremony at 8 p.m.

• Noon-11 p.m. Saturday

• Noon-10 p.m. Sunday
