The optimists at Fountainhead are forging ahead with the official opening of the gastropub's roof deck garden, at 6 p.m. Thursday, 1970 W. Montrose Ave.
To toast the occasion, they'll be tapping seasonal brews from Evanston's Temperance Beer Co., including a pineapple infused blonde ale and a tart fruit ale.
Gene's Sausage Shop, 4750 N. Lincoln Ave., home to the area's other sky-high patio, is holding out for a couple more weeks. The market's popular rooftop beer garden is set to open May 25, in advance of Memorial Day weekend.
