CHICAGO — WTTW-TV is teaming with Chicagoland Acura Dealers and Communities In Schools of Chicago to bring much-needed school supplies to students in underserved communities.

Through April 15, the public is invited to bring new school supplies such as pens, pencils and notebooks to any Acura dealer in the Chicago area. Each donor will have an opportunity to win a private VIP tour of Chicago with WTTW personality Geoffrey Baer, host of many of the channel's documentaries on Chicago history and architecture.

The supplies will help students at Kinzie Elementary in Garfield Ridge, Ward Elementary in Armour Square, and Vaughn Occupational High School in Portage Park.

All donated school supplies will be consolidated during the week of April 17 and then distributed to schools throughout the Chicago area that serve children of all learning levels, including those with special needs.

“The need for new supplies at this point in the school year is critical,” said Jane Mentzinger, executive director of Communities In Schools of Chicago.
