LOGAN SQUARE — Blue Line "L" service was restored late Wednesday afternoon after a man was hit and killed by a train just before noon.
Around 11:50 a.m., the man, 28, jumped onto the train tracks when a train was approaching the Addison stop, according to authorities. The man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
Service was suspended between the California and Jefferson Park stops in both directions for more than three hours. The agency provided free bus shuttles between all of the affected stations.
As of 3:30 p.m., the CTA said service was restored with residual delays.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
