SOUTH LOOP — The Field Museum is offering free entry into the institution all throughout the month of February for Illinois residents.
Lucky Illinoisians with proof of residency get to take advantage of the free February, giving them a whole month to peruse the museum's exhibits during normal business hours, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Patrons will still need to purchase tickets for some events and exhibits, like 3D films, but can get a discounted rate.
Current exhibitions covered in the general admission free days include Sue the T-Rex, Inside Ancient Egypt, McDonald's Fossil Prep Lab, DNA Discovery Center and more.
For Illinois residents who qualify for state food assistance can also visit at a reduced price any day of the year through the museum's "Museums For All" program.
