BRIDGEPORT — The neighborhood has a new Korean BBQ restaurant.
It's called Do Eat Korean BBQ at 3141 S. Halsted St. — and it's open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week.
There's the Bibimbap bowl, a rice bowl stacked with bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, spinach and a fried egg.
There's also the crispy kimchi pancake ($8.99). But be careful; this isn't your ordinary pancake. Do Eat's portions are giant.
"Most times when I want Korean food, I have to go to the North Side," said Jiang, who grew up in China.
Since opening, Jiang said, many college students exploring the 11th Ward's culinary scene have strolled in for a taste.
Do Eat is BYOB.
