ARMOUR SQUARE — The lights burned bright at Sox Park Wednesday night, but there wasn't a baseball in sight.
For the first time in the quarter-century since the White Sox started playing at 333 W. 35th St., ground crews transformed the field into a gridiron where the Northern Illinois Huskies battled the Toledo Rockets in a game televised by ESPN.
Fans from both teams sparsely filled the stands at Guaranteed Rate Field for Northern's 31-24 loss.
